Posągi Ramzesa II

Za potężnym pylonem świątyni grobowej Ramzesa II, otwierał się dziedziniec, który prowadził do westybulu. Na dalszej ścianie tej części świątyni, przy filarach portyku, ustawiony został rząd posągów przedstawiających Ramzesa II w formie Ozyrysa, podobnie jak wcześniej uczyniła to m.in. Hatszepsut. Na ścianach Ramesseum, oprócz scen związanych z kultem zmarłego władcy przedstawiono m.in. sceny batalistyczne, głównie odnoszące się do zwycięskich bitew faraona na terenie Azji.

Statues of Ramesses II

Behind the mighty pylon of the mortuary temple of Ramses II, a courtyard which led to the vestibule began. On the far wall of this part of the temple, by the pillars of the portico, there is a row of statues representing Ramesses II in the form of Osiris, as it was done by e.g. Hatshepsut. On the walls of the Ramesseum, in addition to scenes related to the cult of the deceased ruler, battle scenes, mainly relating to the victorious battles of the Pharaoh in Asia.
