Bogini Hathor była jedną z najważniejszych opiekunek nekropoli tebańskiej. Przypuszczalnie od czasów budowy piramid głównym miejscem sprawowania jej kultu na nekropoli tebańskiej była kotlina Deir el-Bahari. I choć najstarsze świadectwa oddawania jej czci nie zachowały się do naszych czasów, to jednak późniejsze budowle, jak świątynia Mentuhotepa II, Hatszepsut i Thotmesa III wyraźnie wskazują na intensywność sprawowania kultu bogini-krowy. Do naszych czasów zachowało się wiele fragmentów kolumn i kapiteli hathoryckich w Kaplicy Hathor w świątyni Hatszepsut w Deir el-Bahari. Po ich rekonstrukcji można je podziwiać w Sali hypostylowej poprzedzającej Kaplicę. Kapitele kolumn przedstawiają głowę kobiety z krowimi uszami, co niewątpliwie odnosi się do bogini Hathor.

Hathor Columns

The goddess Hathor was one of the most important caretakers of the Theban necropolis. Presumably, since the construction of the pyramids, the main place of its cult in the Theban necropolis was the Deir el-Bahari basin. And although the oldest testimonies of worshipping her have not survived to our times, later buildings, such as the temple of Mentuhotep II, Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, clearly show the intensity of the worship of the cow goddess. Many fragments of Hathor columns and capitals in the Hathor Chapel in the Hatshepsut temple in Deir el-Bahari have been preserved to our times. After their reconstruction, they can be admired in the hypostyle hall preceding the Chapel. The capitals of the columns represent the head of a woman with cow ears, which undoubtedly refers to the goddess Hathor.
