Wielka Sala Hypostylowa

Idąc w głąb świątyni w Karnaku, za kolejnym pylonem, otwiera się Wielka Sala Hypostylowa, która wznoszona była przez trzech kolejnych władców XIX dynastii (1292 – 1189 p.n.e.): Setiego I, Ramzesa II i Merenptaha. Wielka Sala Hypostylowa zajmuje obszar 50 arów, na którym w 16 rzędach ustawione zostały 134 kolumny. Dwa środkowe rzędy kolumn ustawione po obu stronach zlokalizowanej na osi założenia alei procesyjnej były wyższe od pozostałych i sięgały 24 metrów, zaś ich maksymalny obwód sięgał 10 metrów.

Great Hypostyle Hall

Going deeper into the temple in Karnak, behind another pylon, the Great Hypostyle Hall opens, built by three successive rulers of the 19th Dynasty (1292-1189 B.C.): Seti I, Ramesses II and Merenptah. The Great Hypostyle Hall occupies an area of 50 ares, with 134 columns arranged in 16 rows. The two central rows of columns on both sides of the processional avenue located on the axis of the foundation were higher than the others and reached 24 meters, while their maximum circumference was 10 meters.
