Piramida Seneferu w Meidum

Kolejną piramidą wzniesioną przez Seneferu była budowla w Meidum, określana również przez lokalną społeczność jako „Piramida Pozorna”, co istotnie oddaje stan faktyczny, gdyż władca nigdy nie został w niej pochowany. Obecny kształt piramidy zupełnie nie oddaje jej pierwotnego ukształtowania ścian, gdyż zgodnie z tradycją zapoczątkowaną przez Neczeriheta, Piramida w Meidum była budowlą schodkową, składającą się z ośmiu stopni. Pierwotny kształt piramidy sprawił, iż niektórzy z egiptologów jej fundację przypisywali ostatniemu władcy III dynastii, Huniemu, jednak teza ta nie znajduje odzwierciedlenia w odkrytym materiale. Dlatego też nie ulega dzisiaj wątpliwości, iż fundatorem Piramidy w Meidum był Seneferu, który ostatecznie pochowany został w kolejnej ze swoich piramid, tzw. Czerwonej Piramidzie w Dahszur.

The Sneferu Pyramid at Meidum

Another pyramid erected by Sneferu was the building in Meidum, also referred to by the local community as the “Apparent Pyramid”, which indeed reflects its actual state, as the ruler was never buried in it. The present shape of the pyramid does not reflect its original shape of the walls, because according to the tradition started by Djeser, the Pyramid in Meidum was a stepped structure consisting of eight steps. The original shape of the pyramid meant that some Egyptologists attributed its foundation to the last ruler of the 3rd Dynasty, Huni, but this thesis is not reflected in the material discovered. Therefore, there is no doubt today that the founder of the Pyramid in Meidum was Sneferu, who was finally buried in another of his pyramids, the so-called The Red Pyramid in Dahshur.
